The Ukrainian IT Army: Origins and Consequences

It was shortly after the start of the Russian offensive that the IT Army of Ukraine was formed. The Ukrainian government appealed to its national cyber community for help. Within a few hours, a Telegram group with over 282,000 members had been set up.

The IT Army of Ukraine is targeting various internet services: cryptocurrency exchange platforms, electronic signature services, media and television broadcasters, banks and financial institutions. It is becoming urgent for organisations to prepare for cyber attacks through exercises and crisis simulations, to practise detecting and responding to attacks, and to implement resilience tools.
